Backyard Plant Nursery Policy:
Photos are for reference only and are of mature trees.
If your plant perishes (not including shipping damages, see shipping damage policy below) in the first 15 days (about 2 weeks) following your purchase, email Backyard Plant Nursery via Etsy, eBay, or our website including your order number and a picture of your plant. We will review your claim and provide store credit to reorder the plant if necessary. Issues reported after the 15-day period are no longer eligible for credit.
Damage due to spilled soil, and/or superficial damage to leaves does not qualify an order for replacement or refund. Items not received as expected will be evaluated by the Backyard Plant Nursery team on a case-by-case basis to determine if a claim is warranted.
Due to the perishable nature of the items, we are selling, we do not accept returns. However, we cannot guarantee how the plants are cared for or handled after they have been received; therefore, our liability ends after you receive your order. It is important for you to follow the instructions sent with your order. When your order arrives do the scratch test, take a knife, and scrape the bark in different areas of the plant if you see green your plant is alive, if you see brown your plant is dead contact us IMMEDIATELY with pictures so we can issue a store credit for the purchase price. NO EXCEPTIONS
Backyard Plant Nursery gives no guarantee on plant material for lack of required/proper care, "Acts of God", etc.
NOTE: Shipping is NON-REFUNDABLE!
The plants you are purchasing are starter plants and will usually lose their leaves or look wilted due to shipping. During hot months, you must plant them in a pot with good compost soil and keep them moist and out of the hot sun. Do not overwater. You should see the plants bounce back after a week or so. In summer, it may be too hot to plant directly into the ground; place them in a pot. Once the weather cools off then follow the instructions on the tag that comes with the plant. Spring is the time to fertilize so do so after a few days of potting up the plants.
Under no circumstances will BackYardPlantNursery.com be responsible for more than the purchase price of plant/tree/shrub/seeds/merchandise.
Shipping
In the summer plants are shipped bare root wrapped in wet paper towels or gel to keep roots moist. We do not ship in pots. Shipping to the lower 48 continental USA only!!! We DO NOT ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or Puerto Rico.
Damaged shipment per USPS Claim policy:
Damage claims are assessed on a case-by-case basis and will be processed through the USPS or the company that handled the shipment. If you receive your shipment damaged, please advise your post office immediately, keep the box and immediately contact us with pictures and the damage report from your post office for us to be able to make a claim. You will have to keep the box just in case USPS wants to inspect the box until the claim is closed. Please read the following terms of the sale completely:
Terms of the sale: The customer agrees to all the following when purchasing from Backyard Plant Nursery. All sales are final. All orders are insured against damage or loss.
The customer assumes all risk of loss or damage once USPS takes possession. If the order is damaged in any way during shipping, the customer agrees to file an insurance claim. Backyard Plant Nursery to assist the customer in filling out the form.
Once your order is shipped, we offer no cancellation refund at all. We reserve the right to delay shipping due to extreme heat or cold.
If you are unhappy with your order for any reason you agree to contact us as soon as possible no later than 7 days after receipt.
In purchasing from Backyard Plant Nursery, the customer acknowledges, understands, and agrees with all the above terms of the sale.
