Lacy golden foliage.
Lemony Lace® elderberry is a super-showy cut leaf selection of our native Sambucus racemosa. The bright golden foliage is highly dissected and emerges with a colorful red hue. The foliage is more deeply cut than 'Sutherland Gold' or Black Lace®, resulting in a dense, irregular mound with extremely fine texture. White flowers appear in very early spring, before the leaves emerge, and produce red fruit in fall. Will tolerate full sun in northern climates, but prefers light shade in warmer areas.
