Brandywine Red Maple Tree (Acer rubrum, commonly called red maple) Medium-sized, stunning deciduous tree that is native to Eastern North America from Quebec to Minnesota south to Florida and eastern Texas. It typically grows 40-60' tall with a rounded to oval crown. It grows faster than Norway and sugar maples, but slower than silver maple.

The Brandywine Maple Tree is from the family Aceraceae and is an ornamental tree hardy in zones 4 thru 8. This gorgeous maple tree will reach a mature height of 25 feet within 12 years and prefers moist, slightly acid soil. The Brandywine Red Maple will adapt to a wider variety of soil conditions making it perfect for any lawn, park, or along the highway.

Brandywine Maple Trees traits:

Vibrant red maple trees have long been a favorite in the ornamental line of trees and with this new addition to the family another brilliant red with a purple tint comes to lawns everywhere. Early leaves are such an emerald green in the spring and summer before the brandy wine color takes the fall by storm. This red maple is genetically engineered making it a male that will keep it seedless delighting the gardener with less yard mess. As the fiery color makes its appearance in the fall observers will enjoy the long-lasting brilliance for as long as two weeks and even have been known to hold the color longer.

Dormancy notice: This plant, like many others, enters dormancy or semi-dormancy in the late fall through early spring. *THIS PLANT IS NOT DEAD. It is completely healthy but upon receiving the plant, you may notice it exhibits fewer leaves, discoloration, or complete leaf drop. This is normal and essential to the plant's health. In fact, planting during dormancy promotes root growth, giving your plant a better start for spring, when new foliage will begin to grow. Photos are for reference only and are of mature trees.
