Gatsby Moon® oakleaf hydrangea has huge mophead flowers that give a distinctive, showy look to this beloved native species. The tightly packed, pure white florets create very fully, conical panicles with a unique pillowy effect. As the bloom ages, it turns a nice shade of green that lasts through summer.

Dormancy notice: This plant, like many others, enters dormancy or semi-dormancy in the late fall through early spring. *THIS PLANT IS NOT DEAD. It is completely healthy but upon receiving the plant, you may notice it exhibits fewer leaves, discoloration, or complete leaf drop. This is normal and essential to the plant's health. In fact, planting during dormancy promotes root growth, giving your plant a better start for spring, when new foliage will begin to grow. Photos are for reference only and are of mature trees.
Soil is Best in moist, well-drained soil, but quite adaptable to any site except excessively wet ones.
Pruning Oakleaf hydrangea blooms on old wood, so it is generally best to avoid any kind of regular pruning or trimming. Maybe pruned selectively as needed to develop a more striking habit.
Uses Mixed borders; woodland gardens; informal hedges and screens; foundation plantings.
Growing Tips Oakleaf hydrangeas are perhaps the most shade-tolerant hydrangea, though blooming and fall colors are best with at least some sun each day. They bloom on old wood and exhibit better bud hardiness than other old wood bloomers. These plants perform far better in the landscape than in the container/nursery environment, so don't be put off by a plant that looks less than enticing in its pot. It will redeem itself rapidly once planted in the ground.

Shipping Time: Standard Shipping 5-8 days to arrive at its destination after being dispatched from our warehouses.
Shipping Cut Off Time: Orders received by 12pm EST
Verification Time: To protect our customers, we can extend our processing period up to 5 days if your billing information does not match your shipping information. We'll do all we can to help you out by contacting you to make sure there were no errors during checkout.
